For our guests we prepared some trips to famous and beautiful destinations. Some of them can be done in half a day, others take the whole day.

stay in the city of wine and the “Käthchen” the famous literary character from Heinrich von Kleist’s play. You must see the Kilianskirche (Church of St. Kilian) with its famous high altar (1498) and the “Siebenröhrenbrunnen”, as well as the city hall’s façade with its astronomic clock, but there are also many other charming sites. In the afternoon, you could visit Bad Wimpfen, the Stauferstadt from the middle ages above the river Neckar, and enjoy a cup of coffee there. Alternatively you could visit the “Zweiradmuseum” (Bicycle Museum) in Neckarsulm, or the salt mine in Bad Friedrichshall-Kochendorf.

Lake Constance Meersburg and surroundings

departure – motorway western part of Lake Constance – Radolfzell to Meersburg

stroll in the charming city of Meersbug. Germany’s great poet Annette von Droste-Hülshoff lived in the castle there. Her study and the room where she died can be seen on the round tour. The Castle Museum is quite impressive. Meersburg is the starting point for many boat trips on Lake Constance, e.g. to Konstanz, Friedrichshafen or Bregenz.

lunch in Mühlhofen or Meersburg. Then visit of Salem. The Cistercian abbey, which was founded in 1137 has been preserved in the state it was in when the Margrave of Baden took it over in 1803. You can try some wines from the wineries of the Margrave. You can visit the pile dwellings in Uhldingen and the Abbey church of Birnau, which is worthwhile seeing.
